Vis | Yacht Charter Croatia

Vis

The island of Vis lies further west than the rest of the islands between Split and Dubrovnik. Vis is a very popular port for yachts (sailing yachts, catamarans, motor boats or gulets) arriving from Italy.

Because of its distance from the mainland, Vis is an island with fewer tourists prancing around and that is one of the reasons why it is still unspoiled. During the Yugoslavian era, the island of Vis was a base for partisans during the WWII and also for British special forces. On the island you can see and find relics from those times, like for instance a cave which served as the headquarters for Tito during WWII.

Now, Vis is best known for its wine and beautiful vineyards situated in the center of the island itself.

Yachts coming to Vis usually use harbors of the town of Vis or in Komiza, but you can find several anchorages along the coastline.

It doesn’t matter whether you are coming with friends or family, make sure you take your yacht (sailing yacht, catamaran, motor boat or gulet) to visit the island of Vis and discover the beauty of the Adriatic Sea with Lighthouse Yacht Charter Croatia.
