If you want to start your yacht charter in Croatia from the island of Krk you can get there by plane and fly into the Rijeka airport, which is located on the island of Krk. A drive from our capital, Zagreb, to the island of Krk would take approx. 2,5 hours.

If you want to sail to the northern islands such as Rab, Cres, Mali Losinj and many other islands outside of the Kvarner bay, than you should start your yacht charter in Krk. The best way would be to charter a yacht in Punat. Punat is a small town situated on the east coast of Puntar bay. If you are coming by car, you can also charter a yacht in Mali Losinj, which is situated behind the island of Krk. From both places you can navigate to the north-west or the south. In this area you have to be ready to sail on the wind called Bura. This wind, normally winter wind, can appear in the late summer or even during the summer. Luckily there are many bays and numerous islands in the Kvarner bay where you can find good shelter. Mali Losinj offers many good anchorage spots with many excellent restaurants. Try the local lamb from the Island of Cres, Croatians say it is the best one in the country although people from the Island of Pag would tell you differently. Both Islands are reachable in a week of sailing.
